DESCRIPTION:Let's Talk About Taxes with Prince Albert City Assessor Vanessa Vaughan and Director of Education for the Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division\, Robert Bratvold.\n\n\n\nToday\, the Chamber gives our community the opportunity to ask questions to the City and Education board about your taxes:\n\n\n\n\n\n	How are taxes figured out?\n	Where does the tax money go?\n	How does COVID affect your taxes?\n	How do the Assessed value\, and the Mill Rate relate to each other?\n	How does the School Division use your tax dollars?\n	How are the tax dollars calculated for the School Division part of your taxes.\n\n \n\nYour questions can be pre-submitted to\n\nEHildebrandt@PrinceAlbertChamber.com \n\nor you can ask them during the zoom lunch.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Panel\n\n\n\nVanessa Vaughn has been the City Assessor with the City of Prince Albert since January 2019. \n\n \n\nHer assessment experience started over 18 years ago working for Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency in February 2003 in an administrative role. She then moved into various positions until she became a manager for SAMA's Regina Regional office. After three years in that leadership role\, Vanessa took a position with the City of Prince Albert which also brought her closer to her family.\n\n\n\nShe has been married for 8 years and enjoys the northern country through camping\, golfing and most of all spending time with family. Vanessa's family holds Raider season tickets and have enjoyed watching the teams' successes.\n\n \n \nRobert Bratvold grew up in a village with less than 50 people and attended a one-room school. His family owned and operated a business in a small Saskatchewan town and he has seen both the challenges of operating a business and the value that business brings to a community.\n\n\n\nRobert is an educator who is passionate about teaching and learning. He looks to build connections between community organizations\, schools and the business community.\n\n\n\nAs a father of five children Robert is involved in his community in various ways. He is active in several community organizations and also supports music\, cultural\, and sporting events\, particularly for youth.\n\n\n\nHe is consistently impressed by people's willingness to give of their time and resources to build partnerships that support the community\, and especially those that provide opportunities for young people.\n\n\n\nRobert moved to Prince Albert in July 2011 when he became the Director of Education for the Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division (SRPSD) and joined the Chamber soon after. Robert enjoys and values the work the Chamber does for the community and feels especially privileged to be part of\n\nthe amazing SRPSD team and looks forward to continuing the work to bring excellence to every learner.
