DESCRIPTION:2023 Legacy Award Recipient: Trevor Ives\n\nThis luncheon will not only honour Trevor Ives the Legacy Award winner\, but will also include the announcement of the finalists for the Samuel McLeod Business Awards being held on April 12th\, 2024.\n\n\n\nTrevor Ives\, CA\, CPA\nTitle: Past CEO\n\nCompany: Peter Ballantyne Group of Companies\n\n\n\nTrevor had over 30 years of experience and achievement in Aboriginal Business and Corporate Development.  Trevor received his Chartered Accountant designation in Calgary\, Alberta where he articled with the firm Deloitte\, Haskins and Sells. He returned home to Saskatchewan in 1993 where he dedicated his career to First Nations business development corporations.  As CEO for the Peter Ballantyne Group of Companies\, Trevor spent the last 25 years developing a diversified business base for the First Nation that boasts 3 retail Petro-Canada sites\, 4 Super 8 franchise locations\, a Tim Hortons franchise\, and JNE Welding LP which is recognized under Canada's Best Managed Companies program.  These are in addition to several other operating businesses in the manufacturing\, retail\, service\, property development and forestry industries.  Trevor led the development and business expansion through a series of green field developments\, acquisitions and partnerships.  Trevor was also active on many corporate Boards and used his experience and professionalism to help guide these corporations to success.\n\nTrevor's commitment to the Indigenous community led to a long standing volunteer role on the national Board of Directors for Indigenous Works Canada.  This organization strives to improve the inclusion and engagement of Indigenous people in the Canadian economy.  \n\nTrevor lived in Prince Albert with his wife Shauna and 2 children.  He and his family were all avid Saskatchewan Roughrider fans and enjoyed the opportunity to travel whenever possible.
