DESCRIPTION:The Mann Art Gallery in partnership with the Indigenous Peoples Artist Collective is pleased to present an exhibition from August 25th to Oct. 15th\, 2016 of artwork by NIMAP participants.\n\nYou are invited to the exhibition reception on August 25 at 7:00 PM!\n\nBring your friends and family to view photographs and videos created by participants.\n\nEnjoy snacks and punch while celebrating art!\n\nThe Mann Art Gallery\n\n142   12th Street West\n\nPrince Albert\, SK  S6V 3B5\n\nAbout NIMAP:\n\nThe Northern Indigenous Media Art Project (NIMAP) uses photo media\, technology\, and storytelling to create a vibrant and relevant program for youth. Linking contemporary media with traditional forms of expression\, artist leaders Aleyna May Morin\, Tim Moore\, and guest facilitators Zoe Fortier and Kevin Wesaquate held 2-day workshops in La Ronge\, Muskoday First Nation\, Prince Albert\, and Beardy's & Okemasis Willow Cree First Nation in July.\n\nMore than 45 youth\, aged 7 19\, made light painting photographs\, cyanotypes\, filmed interviews\, developed Polaroids\, and took digital photos on community walking tours. Media art can be a powerful tool to create rich exchanges between generations within a community. We invite you to be a part of this exchange as we proudly present the images created by our participants and leaders. Hear the youth speak about their work!
