DESCRIPTION:Sherry Buckler\n\nSaskatchewan born and raised\, Sherry relocated from Saskatoon to Calgary in 1994 to acquire her Broadcast Journalism diploma after a 7 year career as a paralegal.   After spending a number of years working in news\, sports and promotions\, she was recruited as a senior fund development coordinator by the MS Society of Canada.  During her time with the MS Society\, Sherry managed and grew the Society's flagship fundraising event\, the MS Walk.  During her last year in Calgary\, she led the Chapter's walk to a record revenue of over $850\,000 - making it the most successful MS Walk in Canada. \n\nIn 2008\, Sherry and her husband made the decision to relocate back to Saskatchewan\, where she took a position with the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) managing  the Saskatoon Chapter from Prince Albert.  She also sat on a national advisory committee to advise on the operations and execution of over 70 fundraising JDRF events across Canada.\n\nIn 2014\, she joined the Victoria Hospital Foundation in 2014 as their new Chief Executive Officer.  Her work has included revitalizing the major giving program\, implementing new fundraising events\, expanding the donor base of the Foundation\, implementing a strong social media presence and increasing fundraising revenue significantly year after year.  She is presently the Vice-Chair of the Network of Saskatchewan Hospital and Healthcare Foundations\, a Network that advocates for and celebrates the work that independent charitable hospital foundations do in support of healthcare across Saskatchewan.\n\nSherry was awarded her CFRE in 2018\, a designation granted to those who have met a series of international standards that include tenure in the profession\, education\, demonstrated fundraising achievement and a commitment of service to not-for-profit organizations. She is one of 6\,300 fundraising professionals around the world who hold the CFRE designation. \n\nSherry lives in Prince Albert with her husband\, their 13 year old daughter and 9 year old son.
