DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, March 27\, there will be a full day workshop at Plaza 88 (Knight Hall)\, entitled Cannabis 101: Cannabis and the Workplace Realities\, Rights\, and Responsibilities. This will be a full-day seminar targeted at employers who are unsure of what their workplace-related rights and responsibilities will be once legal cannabis comes into effect.\n\n\n\nAttendees in the morning session will learn from legal experts at Miller-Thomson LLP about the main provisions of Bill C-45 the Cannabis Act\, as well as the rights and responsibilities of both employees and employers in the workplace. This includes information around an employer's duty to accommodate\; distinguishing between recreational and medical cannabis use\; the legality of drug testing protocols in Canada and much more.\n\n \n\nThe afternoon session will feature a hands-on drug and alcohol policymaking workshop facilitated by an HR consultant. Attendees will leave with a draft policy for their own workplace.
