Take in the Canada Day celebrations at Waskesiu Lake, in the beautiful Prince Albert National Park. Activities kick off on Sunday, June 30 with a volleyball tournament from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the main beach. Traditional games with Parks Canada, bike decorating from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Recreation Grounds (tennis courts) and Wolf Howl with Parks Canada at 7 p.m. On Canada Day, July 1, the day begins with a pancake breakfast 8 - 11 a.m. at Community Hall, children's bike decorating continues in the morning at the Recreation Grounds (tennis courts) and Yoga in the Park at the day use area (main park). Parade starts at 12 noon, followed by ceremonial flag raising and protocol ceremonies. Afternoon activities include live entertainment with a family-friendly beer gardens, interpretive programming from Parks Canada and children's activities including face painting, crafts and activities. Park entrance fee and all activities for the day are free. The family-friendly beer gardens does require purchase.
