Creating a Harassment-Free Workplace: Employer Training
Presenters: Josh Haugerud and Will Jordan - SASSDescription:
Creating a Harassment-Free Workplace: Employer Training
This training helps employers understand their responsibilities and take practical steps to prevent harassment in the workplace. Led by Enough Already, the session focuses on what employers need to know, what they need to have in place, and how to respond when problems come up.
Participants will learn what workplace harassment and sexual harassment are, what the law requires, and how to handle concerns early and effectively. The training includes real-life examples, simple prevention strategies, and guidance on how to support workers who experience harassment. It also covers bystander skills, helping employees step in safely when they see inappropriate behaviour.
In Saskatchewan, employers are required by law to have harassment prevention policies and to investigate all harassment complaints. Employers must also have workplace violence prevention policies and procedures in place. Federally regulated workplaces have additional requirements, including assessing risks and developing policies with health and safety representatives.
This training will help employers:
- Understand their legal responsibilities
- Create or improve harassment and violence prevention policies
- Respond appropriately to complaints and concerns
- Reduce risk to workers and the organization
- Build a respectful and professional workplace culture
This session is ideal for business owners, managers, supervisors, HR professionals, and anyone with responsibility for workplace health and safety.
