Gerard Weber Group Concert
Weber & Gasper Law Office, along with Arts Humboldt, are proud to bring Humboldt-born-and-raised saxophonist Gerard Weber and the Gerard Weber Group to Humboldt for an evening of jazz, drinks, and ambience on Friday, March 2 at the Humboldt Community Gathering Place. Doors open at 6:45 for cocktails. The music starts at 7:30 with a few numbers from opening act Francofunk, a funk-soul jazz ensemble from École canadienne-française Pavillon Gustave-Dubois. Tickets are $20.00 each and available at Shoppers Drug Mart, at Weber & Gasper Law Office, or by contacting Brian Grest at 231-8284. Rush seating. Must be 19 or over to attend. The Gerard Weber Group is made up of musicians who share a common interest in the music of renowned jazz and fusion guitarist Pat Metheny. Weber and his bandmates reimagine Metheny’s compositions in a soundscape that focuses on electronic manipulation and processing of traditional acoustic instruments. Gerard Weber has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Canada, the United States, Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Gerard has been featured as a soloist with the Regina Symphony Orchestra, the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, the University of Saskatchewan Wind Orchestra, and the University of Florida Orchestra, Wind Symphony, and University Chorus. Gerard received his Bachelor of Music Honors degree from the University of Saskatchewan and earned the Master of Music degree from the University of Florida. Gerard is currently based in Saskatoon as a performer and educator. Must be 19+ to attend.
