The Victoria Hospital Foundation is excited to once again launch their major annual campaign for the Victoria Hospital. This year marks the 12th anniversary for the Give a Little Life Radiothon, a 12-hour live broadcast from the lobby of the Vic Hospital on all the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group
stations.
This year’s event takes place on Friday, December 1st and is devoted to upgrading the hospital’s pharmaceutical unit. Currently, our pharmacy struggles with an obsolete and manual medication dispensing system. Our radiothon aims to purchase an automated pill packaging system that will free up our pharmacists time, increase volume and eliminate the risk of human error.
“Our pharmacy prepares medications for not only our hospital, but 13 other care facilities in our Region including our home care services, our mental health unit, dialysis and our chemotherapy centres. We need our community’s help to provide this part of our hospital the ability to do this quickly, safely and accurately. An efficient and safe hospital pharmacy can impact the
health of us all.”
Over the last 11 years, the Give A Little Life Day campaign has raised over 4.5 million dollars for the patients of the Victoria Regional Hospital.
