To ensure residents have an opportunity to safely dispose of their Household Hazardous Waste the City of Prince Albert will be hosting a Household Hazardous Waste and Paint Collection Day on Saturday June 6, 2015 from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the City Yards (6th Avenue East/10th Street).
“Household hazardous waste includes many items that people are storing in their basements, garages, kitchens or bathrooms and can include anything from drain cleaner to florescent tubes,” stated Dale Rankel, Sanitation Manager for the City of Prince Albert. “Hazardous items are often toxic or flammable which means extra care should be taken when disposing of them.”
“It has been several years since we held the last waste collection day and over the years these items can really start to accumulate,” stated Rankel. “We encourage the public to take advantage of the hazardous waste collection day by coming out and safely disposing of these unwanted or unusable items.”
