Household hazardous waste includes many items that people are storing in their basements, garages, kitchens or bathrooms and can include anything from drain cleaner to florescent tubes. Hazardous items are often toxic or flammable which means extra care should be taken when disposing of them.
Items to be accepted (but not limited to):
Adhesives, Aerosols, Automotive Batteries, Cleaners, Corrosives, Fuels, Mercury Oxidizers, Poison, Pharmaceuticals, Propane Cylinders, Solvents etc.
Items not accepted are waste products already covered by existing product stewardship programs:Electronics waste – SWEEP (Sask. Waste Electronic Equipment Program) - SARCAN
Used oil, oil filters & containers and tires – take to Prince Albert Landfill
Other hazardous waste products excluded:
Biological, infectious, radioactive, explosive, ammunition, industrial waste
